Prediction

 

WALT predicts what our books are about. We/My class have started to read novel books. There are a lot of steps and when you get to a new step you have to do an activity. This is what our second activity is. I am reading: The Wind Singer. Maybe next time I could Improve by adding a bit more color to my google drawing. I found this activity hard because we had to predict what the book was about from just looking at the front and back cover.

Water Quality write up

 

For the past few weeks, we have been discovering water quality. This Monday we went to the creek next to our school. We went down in our change of clothes so we wouldn't get our school uniform wet. One we were there we started to test the water. If you want to hear more read my procedure. 

Maybe next time I could improve by adding a bit more color.

Currents and Voltage

 Today we have been exploring current and voltage.

Current is the way that electrons move through the circuit, the current is measured using amps.

volts or voltage- The volts or voltage is the force that makes the electrical current. The higher the voltage the brighter the light or louder the buzzer.

For the past few weeks, we have been discovering electricity. Our school has ordered a few electricity kits that we use to help us learn about electricity. Today we were seeing what would happen if we connected different types of volts with cells.

The table explains what we predicted what we thought was going to happen before we started.

We found out the results by connecting the different types of volts with Double-A batteries/cells

We made the predictions because Miss Farr told us to.

New Zealand wars

 

This week for literacy my group and I had to create a timeline of the NZ wars from back in the day. We got most of the information from our literacy book called Nga Pakanga o Aotearoa/the New Zealand Wars. From making this timeline I have learnt a lot of this from all the wars back in the day. I found this activity very challenging because it was really hard to go through the book and try finding information for 14 different slides. Next time I think I could improve by maybe putting a bit more information and color.

Word of the week

This week's word of the week is ominously. I found trying to find out what this meant because I didn't have a clue what it meant. Also, all the dictionaries and sites didn't make sense when they were explaining what the word meant but overall it was quite fun.

New day, New life

For the past few weeks, we have been writing our own narratives. They all had to be based on the same pictures. But I really enjoyed doing this because this is one of my first proper stories I have ever written. And I think that you should definitely read it even though doesn't seem that great it is amazing just trust me! I don't want to spoil the story so I'm just going to leave you to it and don't worry it isn't 10000 pages so yeah.

Show don't tell Week 12

This week we have started to do Show don't tell's to improve the way we explain things in our writing. I think it has improved the way I write because it makes the reader want to read it more. I found this one really easy and fun because you get to turn just a few words into an interesting few sentences.
