Key word hunt

WALT fill in a keyword hunt. Today for literacy we had to fill in a keyword hunt using the story Checkmate. Checkmate is a story about a kid named Liam that loves playing Chess but his family isn't a fan of chess and is a big fan of rugby and they all play it. I really enjoyed this because I got to read the story which was cool. What I found challenging was to figure out how to do this.

Blog Analysis

WALT make graphs about our blog posts. Today for maths we made a blog analysis using blogger to help us work out how many blog posts we have made in 2017 I made 1, In 2018 I made 32, in 2019 I made 54, And altogether I made 87 blog posts within all of those years. I really enjoyed this because I got to see how many blog posts I have done all of these years. What I found challenging was writing and making this because I have never done this before and I got confused about how to do it.

Dick Frizzell Art

WALT recreate Dick Frizzell's art. This week we have been working on recreating Dick Frizzell's art. I really enjoyed this because I love art and because it is fun to make artwork that can be displayed anywhere. What I found challenging was drawing the picture and painting the background, this is my artwork.

Adding and subtracting decimals

WALT add and subtract decimals. Today for Maths we had to do a slide and show our working on the slide. I really enjoyed this because it's really fun to work out. What I found difficult about this was that the questions were a bit hard and challenging.

Adventure Stories

WALT write an adventure story. Today for writing we had to fill in a google drawing and say what makes a good adventure story, why people like to read them, what makes them adventurous, What adventure stories we know, and what good writers might do. I enjoyed this because it was just fun to write. What I found hard was trying to figure out what to write down.

My Family Te Reo Maori

Today we wrote our family in Te Reo Maori for Te Reo Maori. What I enjoyed about this activity is that we got to do a video with it as well as writing our family's names. What I found challenging was to put the video on the slide.

Number of the week, Term 4 Week 5

This week we had to do the number of the week like every other week. What I enjoyed about our number of the week is that it had interesting questions and it was a little bit challenging. What I didn't like about it was that I had to get the right amount of money because it took a long time.

Film Festival

Last term every school that is part of Toki Pounamu got to participate in an event called Film Festival. Film Festival is a short little film under 5 minutes. Some schools only did a few films but our school / Paroa school in the senior bit got to go in little groups and each class had a subject on what it had to be about. My group was connected. Sadly my group did not make it in. All the lead teachers had to decide what top 20 films got to make it in. This is my group's film...

WALT say what we wan in Te Reo. Today for Te Reo Maori we had to write what we wanted for Christmas but in Maori. I enjoyed this activity because I actually got to write what I wanted for Christmas because I haven't done it yet. This is what I want for Christmas, try to find out what these all mean.

Cinquain Poems Part 3

WALT write Cinquain poems. Today for poem writing we had to write Cinquain poems. Cinquain poems are poems where there are five lines and they have to have a syllable pattern the pattern is: First line: 2 syllables
second line: 4 syllables
third line: 6 syllables
the fourth line: 8 syllables
the fifth line: 2 syllables

                 Lollies
           Lollies are yum
       there are so many sorts
make sure you brush your teeth after
                  or else

              Scrunchies
             all different
     They are multi-colored
warm, fuzzy, smooth, and so many

               Classrooms
         Classrooms are rooms
        Look there is a teacher!
Classrooms are places to learn things

                   All hats
       They keep you safe
  They protect you from sun

He aha tēnei?

WALT ask what is this? In Te Reo.
Today we had to find the Maori word for and object and put it into a sentence. We had to describe it.
I enjoyed it because I got to learn what Rainbow and Drink bottle meant in Te Reo Maori. What I found difficult was to get macarons on some of the letters and typing in the Maori words.
