Kepapa Huarākau - Fruit Kebabs

For Te Wiki o te Māori, we read (pānui) the pukapuka Kepapa Huarakāu. We then made our own kepapa Huarakāu using the instructions from the pukapuka.

This is how we made them...
First, we washed the grapes
Then we peeled the apples, peeled the kiwifruit, cut the bananas, cut the oranges, took the grapes apart
After we finished that we put all the fruit into bowls and the marshmallows
Then we got our barbeque sticks and put the fruit and marshmallows on it.

This is how we made them in Māori...
Reka ngā kepapa huarākau.
 Anei ngā tohutohu.
Tuatahi horoia ngā kerepe.
Tuarua, tihoretia ngā āporo, ngā huakiwi...
... ngā panana me ngā āarani.
Tuatoru, tapahia ngā huarākau kia iti.
Tuawhā, werohia ngā huarākau me ngā rare kōpungapunga.

  1. He mea whakawaiwai kamo Clara! That looks delicious. I love how you have not only used te reo for your instructions but you have also added different words that you know into your caption as well. What was your favourite part of this activity? Mine was getting to eat the kai at the end!
